On My iPod

Just listening to the new Broken Social Scene Forgiveness Rock Record. Pretty good thus far.
Continue to be blown away by the new National album: High Violet. I didn’t think I could fall in love with them more. Fantastic.
“It’s a terrible love and I’m walking with spiders.”
From NPR: Berninger’s deep, deadpan baritone, when dressed up in intricately lovely arrangements, can make The National’s music seem remote at times. But his words are the stuff of blood and guts; the stuff of emotions so powerful, they’re downright gruesome.
Brilliant.

New discoveries: Efterklang, Magic Chairs – I love the first track, “Modern Drift” – it reminds me of Bon Iver; and a reintroduction to Frightened Rabbit via @bhars.

I’m trying to remember all of the shows I went to in 2009. I’d have to say U2 was the most explosive. Although for personal reasons, seeing The National again was great. I’m bummed that I sold my TV on the Radio tickets…shouldn’t have done that.
Lately I’ve been listening to a lot of Temper Trap and Jaguar Club.
